Cacao is a plant-based substance that comes from the cacao tree. It is used in ceremony as a sacred plant medicine to promote healing, spiritual growth, and personal transformation. In ceremony, cacao is often consumed in a drink form that is prepared with hot water or milk.

No, cacao is not a psychedelic substance. While it may have mild psychoactive effects, it does not cause hallucinations or altered states of consciousness in the same way that other plant-based medicines such as ayahuasca or psilocybin mushrooms do. Each cacao ceremony is unique, but in this ceremony we include guided meditation, journaling, vision creation, light movement or dance and sharing circles. Participants consume a ceremonial dose of cacao and set intentions for their experience.

While cacao is generally considered safe for most people, it does contain caffeine and theobromine, which can cause jitters or anxiety in some individuals. Talk to me and we will discuss the dose prior to intake to be sure. 

Cacao is believed to have heart-opening and consciousness-expanding properties that can help individuals connect with their inner selves, release emotional blockages, and tap into their creativity and intuition.

It is recommended to wear comfortable clothing that allows for movement and to bring a water bottle, journal, and any items that help you feel grounded and centered.

No, prior experience is not required. Cacao ceremonies are designed to be accessible to individuals of all backgrounds and levels of experience. I just love for you to join and try it out with us.
