Not properly. Not consciously. You have done it every moment of your life, and almost none of it on purpose. The Breath Beginnings is a short, free course in the oldest practice there is.
A welcome to start, then one lesson a day for six days.
Yours to keep. No cost, no catch.
What it holds
Six lessons, one opening each day
01
What pranayama actually is
Not breathwork as a trend. The original practice, and what it was for.
02
The eight limbs
Where the breath sits in the whole of yoga, so you know what you are standing in.
03
How to breathe properly
The mechanics. Most people are doing it in the top third of their lungs.
04
Breath awareness
The first real practice. Nothing to achieve.
05
Nadi Shodhana and Bhastrika
Two techniques: one to settle, one to wake.
06
Kundalini and union
What the tradition says the breath is ultimately for.
Who is teaching this
Jordy
Yoga & pranayama teacher · Sacred Valley, Peru
I am a 700-hour certified yoga teacher with a 400-hour specialisation in pranayama, and over 2,000 hours of teaching behind me. I have co-led a 300-hour teacher training and taught at seven 200-hour trainings.
This course is the beginning I wish someone had handed me — the breath as something you can actually work with, taught in the order it was meant to be learned.
I'm super grateful for Jordy's pranayama lessons, they not only informed me, but I physically got to experience the benefits of pranayama which I now continue to implement into my life. Jordy is a great teacher and has a very friendly loving energy!
There was an air of calm spirituality as you entered his daily early morning gathering. He sensitively guided us through the different pranayama techniques, always giving us the opportunity to improve technique without pressure. His calm voice became the voice in my head for the breathing sessions that I continued to do after I left Peru.
After the six lessons
If it opens something, there is further to go
The six lessons hand you the breath as something you can work with. The Conscious Breath is where the practice goes deeper — the full programme, at your own pace.
